Fabric and colour

As for colour, black is the formal choice, and one that carries naturally into the evening. A good cloth is half of a good garment, and the other half is how it is cut and sewn for you. Tell us if you would like another cloth or colour and we will talk you through what is possible.

Cut and finish

The photograph shows a double-breasted front. For the jacket, the overall cut can be normal, tailored or loose, depending on how closely you like a jacket to follow the body. The front can be single-breasted with one, two or three buttons, or double-breasted with four or six. The back can have one vent or two, whichever you like the look of. On the trousers, you decide how the waist fastens: with belt loops, side tabs or buckle side adjusters.
